Our experience.

Having worked in the equine and the agricultural industries for many years, we understand how your business works. We recognise the hazards & risks, and make positive WHS/OHS changes without impacting on your daily operations.

Our long-standing expertise means that we’re one of Australia’s most trusted equine and agricultural industry WHS/OHS experts. We are proud to serve Australia-wide, with a combined 75 years of experience across the equine and agricultural industries, employment and WHS law and training. We become trusted members of our client’s team, offering a thorough knowledge of WHS and a hands-on approach.

After implementing the WHS/OHS system, we stay with you for the journey. We ensure all legislative requirements are met on an ongoing basis, conduct staff training where needed and keep you up to date, as laws and regulations change.

Our goal: reduce the risk of your hazards and make sure your workers get home safely.

A director of Safe Industries Australia, Daniel has 30 years experience working in the agricultural, cropping, thoroughbred breeding and livestock industries. He has also worked and managed his own business in the construction, earthmoving and waste management and has always strongly advocated workplace health and safety (WHS) management systems.

Daniel brings a hands-on and practical approach to WHS gained from his experience over such a wide range of industries. This experience allows him to work closely with our clients and their staff to understand the issues and problems faced in order to provide a safe workplace.

Daniel holds an Associate Diploma in Farm Management, Certificate 4 in Workplace Assessment and Training and has taught the Certificate 4 OHS course at Muswellbrook TAFE.

Daniel Morgan

Director, Safe Industries Australia

Daniel is a solicitor with 23 years of experience working in Employment Law, Workers Compensation and OHS/WHS. Among Daniel’s significant cases was Inspector Paul Wade V Yore Contractors Pty Limited (2003) NSWCIMC 53 and 93. This was a successful win by Daniel for the employer after he established a defence under section 53 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1983.

In this case, the Chief Industrial Magistrate found the employer could not have further prevented an accident or injury, having provided all relevant information, instruction and training to ensure a safe workplace to which the employee did not follow. In addition, costs were awarded against the WorkCover authority.

Daniel has also been involved in representing employers in pleas of mitigation for prosecutions before the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW including Robert William Regan V Muswellbrook Crane Services Pty Ltd [2007] NSWIR COMM 13.

It was his unique and thorough understanding of workplace health and safety issues, which led Daniel to identify the need to tailor advice to each business, particularly within the Thoroughbred and agriculture industries.
